Linda Heath Peacock stepped into heaven at the age of 76 on August 15th, 2025 after a courageous 13-month battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, son, and daughters when she passed into Glory. She is survived by her husband of 55 years John Peacock; her son Trent Peacock and his wife Lacy; her daughter Amber Gaston; daughter Haley Cook and her husband Daniel; 8 Grandchildren, John David Peacock, Carson Peacock, Ben Gaston, Anna Kate Gaston, Brantley Gaston, Abigail Cook, Garrett Cook, and Lilly Grace Cook; along with her sister Debbie Carter and her husband Bob, and brother Roland Heath. She was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Douglas and Nell Heath.

God gave her a unique gift of loving others well. She did that in so many ways, starting with being an amazing wife and life companion to John. As a mom, she was a steady presence, always reminding her kids there was nothing they were going through that God could not handle. As much as she loved Johnny and the kids she adored her grandkids. She was constantly teaching them, playing games, pointing them to Jesus whether it be in Grammie camp or a random Tuesday. She wanted them to know that they were loved by her and Jesus. She loved to travel and was blessed to go to many countries in the world but the beach was her happy place. She was a loyal and trustworthy friend.

She was active at First Baptist Woodstock for over 50 years teaching girls Sunday School, participating in and teaching bible studies, going on numerous mission trips to Kenya, France, Honduras, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and was involved in every local Love Loud Dental event for at least 10 times. Linda touched countless lives through her kindness and her unwavering commitment to sharing her faith.

Linda loved to paint and had a special bond with the band of sisters that were in her paint class for 20+ years. She was a very accomplished painter and many people have been blessed by her paintings. Linda never met a stranger and made everyone feel known. Her home was an open door. She was a constant host, throwing parties, leading bible studies, or having the girls over. There was always a seat at her table whether she knew you for 5 minutes or lifetime she made you feel welcome.

Her Cancer was not wasted. God used her time with cancer to share His love with so many on the same journey and also the staff. She would walk into the chemo room and it would take her 30 minutes to get to her chair for treatment because she had to speak to many of the people getting treatment and the nurses. Linda had the gift of making others feel safe to share their story and at each encounter she loved on them, prayed with them, reminded them they were loved by Jesus and gave out many devotionals (praying through cancer). She was dearly loved by many of the friends she met during this journey.

Linda gave of herself so generously and as a result impacted so many lives. She will be missed greatly. We are glad we have an eternity to share with her in our future.

Linda's family will welcome friends at a visitation at Lakeside Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church Woodstock. There will be a reception at First Baptist Church Woodstock following the service.

Sending prayers and sympathy to John and children. We knew them when we lived in Woodstock and attended Woodstock First Baptist many years ago. Linda was a very sweet lady

Linda´s life was lived out loud! God´s gifts to Linda were openly shared with all she came in contact with. She was truly one of a kind and those of us who called her friend will feel a deep void without her. Rest in peace with our heavenly Father dearest Linda.

One of my very best friends in life. When I met Linda and John in 1974, other than being friendly to a stranger- most unusual wonderful character trait was Linda was so focused on planning the next Bible study in their home in Stockwood subdivision. Growing up in church since a little child loving Jesus was second nature for me but Linda was just so focused on Jesus and getting together for the next Bible study, a wonderful character trait I had not seen before. She was a rare example of a Christian so eager to study Him more and share Him with others. And then of course her husband John was also constantly wanting to learn more and has probably taught Sunday School for 50+ years. Two of the finest Christians I have been blessed to know and both the definition of love and consistency in their walk with the Lord. We have been blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her greatly.
