A Taylorsville resident, Ms. Linda Cheryl Phillips, age 73, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville. She was born August 25, 1952 in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Thomas "Tom" Raleigh and Ruby Eileen Smallwood Phillips. Cheryl was born and raised in Manchester, was a graduate of Clay County High School and studied business at Lindsey Wilson College. She retired from The State of Kentucky after having worked in the Department of Transportation, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Cheryl was Baptist by faith and grew up in Horse Creek Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy C. Smallwood, a grandson, Dalton K. Minton, a sister, Lucy Fern Woods and 3 brothers, Jimmy, Kenneth, and David "Tommy" Phillips. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Grant, 3 grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsea) Henson, Jacob Swartz, Kayla Smallwood, 3 great grandchildren, Addison, Mason and Aubrey Henson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for Ms. Linda Cheryl Phillips will be 2:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with a time of sharing at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 21, 2025 at Gregory Family Cemetery in Manchester. Bro. Chris Roberts will officiate. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville and the Rominger Funeral Home of Manchester are in charge of arrangements.
