Publish in a newspaper

Linda Lee Wilson, age 85, of Somerset, died on October 17, 2025, after a long illness at her residence, The Neighborhood of Somerset. She was the daughter of the late Ida Marie and Leonard Leake and beloved sister of Janet Leake Pace of Corbin, Kentucky. She married William J. Wilson in 1958. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Linda loved to travel with various family members and friends, especially to warm climates and Kentucky Wildcat events with her sister Janet, after their children were grown. She enjoyed many visits, travels and family gatherings for holidays and vacations and was active in the Somerset Junior Women's Club. She was delighted to have met several First Ladies of the United States during her leadership years with the organization.
She offered service to others by teaching Sunday School, supporting Bethany House Women's Shelter and was an active member in good standing at the First Baptist Church of Somerset. She was known and appreciated for her generosity, quick wit, good cooking and a lifelong love of music.
A proud 1956 graduate of Corbin High School and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing (formerly Nazareth Schol of Nursing) in Lexington, Linda began her career as a pediatric nurse in Louisville and returned to nursing at Somerset City Hospital while raising her family. She went on to earn a master's degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University and became a nurse educator through the university's extension program at Somerset Community College. In her role as the first Infection Control Nurse at Humana Hospital Lake Cumberland, she creatively promoted the importance of infection control with humor and memorable projects and gave informative presentations for civic groups and hospital staff.
Linda is survived by five children, John (Mickey) Wilson of Somerset, Kentucky, Cindy (Paul) Kopelke of Baltimore, Maryland, Suzi (Dennis) Mills of Boone, North Carolina, Laura Wilson of Wytheville, Virginia and Wayne (Christie) Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky. Known as "Grandmother", she will also be missed by her grandchildren, Lee, Will, Lucy, John, Holly, Sophie, Sims, and Marie; and two great-grandchildren, Joe and Blair.
Visitation for Linda will be Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 128 Somerset, KY. A funeral service will follow, also at First Baptist Church with Bro. David Pendley officiating. Interment will be at Somerset Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are John Wilson, Wayne Wilson, Will Wilson, Andre Daley, John Saliba and Kevin Pace.
Contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Bethany House Women's Shelter.
Somerset Undertaking Company is entrusted with the arrangements for Linda L. Wilson.
