Lisa Marie Heinrich, 51, of Oak Creek, WI, started her new journey on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by her family following a traumatic brain injury sustained from an accidental fall in her home.
Born August 8, 1970 in Milwaukee, Lisa is the daughter of Jacqueline Reischl Heinrich and the late John E. Heinrich. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1988. She continued her education at the U.W. Madison where she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She also received a second Masters degree from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
Lisa worked as a nationally certified sign language interpreter for Advocate Aurora Healthcare in the Milwaukee area. She had a passion for medical interpreting and a huge heart for the deaf community. She previously worked for Sorenson Communications, Professional Interpreting Enterprise, Froedert, and various other interpreting services. She also worked as a medical interpreter on the island country of Dominica in the Caribbean. She was a previous member of Immaculate Conception Church and school. She was also a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and WISRID. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved bowling. She was an avid Brewers fan and was a season ticket holder. One of her greatest joys were her cats, especially Big Boy and Baby.
She is survived by her mother, Jackie (Gerald) Ruppel, Sheboygan; her siblings, Gregory (Adriana) Heinrich, Boca Raton, FL, Julie (Corey) Carpenter, Sussex, Jill (Robert) Levenhagen, Sheboygan, Adam (Laura) Heinrich, Vero Beach, FL, Gretchen Heinrich, Jupiter, FL, Jessica (Chris) Whaley, Asheville, NC, and John W. (Sarah) Heinrich, Rye, NY; nephews and nieces, Lucas Heinrich, Rhett and Gavin Carpenter, Alyssa Levenhagen, Edwin Heinrich, and Channing and Everleigh Heinrich; other relatives and many friends. She is further survived by her best friend, Maria Kielma.
Besides her father, John E. Heinrich, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and her niece, Amber Levenhagen.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Froedtert Hospital and Versiti Donor Services for all of their loving care and support. Her legacy will live on through the gift of organ donation.
A celebration of Lisa's life is being planned for a later date.

What a tragic loss from a fall. She was a great lady who interpreted for us. She had a "deaf" heart. Rest In Peace, Lisa!
