Arthur Jensen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Sheboygan on Jul. 22, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Arthur Robert Jensen of Sheboygan was called to rest at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday morning, July 19, 2025.
Art was born on Sep 15, 1953, in Sheboygan, a son of the late Marguerite Ann (Warling) Jensen and Arthur George Jensen.
He attended St. Clement's Grade School as well as South High School in Sheboygan before graduating from West Bend East High School in 1972.
During his 4-year tour in the US Navy that followed, he proudly served as an Operations Specialist Seaman (OSSN) working on radar, navigation, and communications systems within the Combat Information Center (CIC) of the USS Little Rock CLG4, which sailed as the 6th Fleet flagship in the Mediterranean.
Upon exiting the Navy, he found his experience had led to an employment opportunity installing radar systems on yachts along the beautiful La Jolla coastline near San Diego, California. He then worked construction with his brother Dave in Boyes Hot Springs near Sonoma, California, before both moved to Arizona to join family that had settled there.
In 1982, Art moved back to Sheboygan where he continued to do construction for several years before becoming a telecommunications lineman for Charter Communications, specializing in fiber optics. He continued to work for Charter, which later became AT&T through to his retirement.
While working, Art furthered his service to the country as part of the Naval Reserves within the Seabees, the Navy's construction battalion. Nicknamed "Digger", he was deployed around the globe as a Construction Electrician 3rd Class to help build infrastructure, assist with disaster recovery, and advance civic action projects.
Art enjoyed the outdoors and spent time throughout his life mountain climbing, rafting, fishing, and camping. He also had a special passion for taking things apart and discovering how they worked before putting them back together again, often with ideas for improvements or a homebuilt version.
Beyond everything, Art's true passion was found in helping others, especially his family. He was an extremely kind soul who continually offered his hands and guidance where they were needed. He cheerfully toiled to improve the world around him. Art had immense love for his family and was a second father to his nephews: Steve and Ben; his nieces: Leigha and Joey; and their children after his brother, Michael, passed away. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by two sisters: Kathy (Tom) Yarbrough of Oxford, MS, Patricia (Mike) Sterling of San Anselmo, CA; and two brothers: Thomas (Carla) Jensen of Sheboygan, David (Cindy) Jensen of Grants Pass, OR. Art is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Michael Jensen; and one sister: Alice Jensen.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan. Burial will follow at St. Peter UCC Cemetery in Rhine Center with Military Honors. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Art's arrangements.
