Lisa Ann Neal was born on June 18, 1964, in Elgin, Texas, the beloved first child of David and Mary
Helen Ramirez. From the very beginning, Lisa carried a light that would shine brightly in the lives
of all who knew her. As the eldest of eight children, she led with love, strength, and an unwavering
devotion to her family. Lisa grew up in Elgin, attending local schools and graduating from Elgin
High School, where her competitive spirit and joyful energy shone on the softball field, volleyball
court, and track. She was baptized and received her First Communion at Sacred Heart Church,
where her faith became a quiet but constant source of strength throughout her life.
Lisa was a tireless worker, starting her career at a young age at Austin State School and later
dedicating many years to the Health and Human Services Commission. To know Lisa was to feel
seen, welcomed, and cared for. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, wife,
and friend whose compassion knew no bounds. She married the love of her life, David Neal, on April
8, 1995, and together they raised her son, Shaun Resendez, with pride and unwavering support.
Becoming a grandmother to Athena Resendez was one of Lisa's greatest joys, and she cherished
every moment spent with her family.
Lisa found happiness in life's simple pleasures-playing softball and volleyball, challenging friends
to a game of spades, cheering on her Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, and making others laugh with her sharp wit and warm heart. Her smile could light up a room, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home. Lisa was preceded in death by her dear grandmother, Juana Nunez, and her brother, Michael Ramirez. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we are forever grateful for the time we had with her and the love she gave so freely.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, David Neal; her son, Shaun Resendez (Austin); and her
precious granddaughter, Athena Resendez (Lubbock). She is also survived by her siblings:
Guadalupe Ramirez (Pflugerville), David (Deborah) Ramirez, Xavier (Michelle) Ramirez, Albert
Ramirez, Robert (Debbie) Ramirez, and Raymon (Lisa) Ramirez; her nieces and nephews: Brittany
Ramirez, Kayla Ramirez, Zack Ramirez, John Ramirez, and Xavier Ramirez; great-niece Ariana
Ramirez; great-nephews Henry Krech, William Denman, and Ronin Ramirez; and a wide circle of
aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends who loved her deeply. Lisa's legacy of love,
resilience, and compassion lives on in each of us. We will carry her memory forward, holding close
the laughter, the lessons, and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed beyond measure-and
remembered with every beat of our hearts.
