Lisa A. (Yax) Sayers, 61, of Girard, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on May 13, 1964, in Algonac, Michigan, a daughter of the late Wayne and Cathrine (Kenny) Yax.
Lisa graduated from Algonac High School in 1982, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Northern Michigan University in 1986. She later moved to Girard, where she met the love of her life, Ron Sayers, on a blind date at the Best Western where they danced together all night.
Lisa worked as an independent consultant with Arbonne for twenty-two years and also shared her passion for wellness as a Zumba instructor in the Girard area.
She was known for her incredible ability to do just about anything including: decorating the house, tackling DIY projects, painting, clean cooking (always from scratch), keeping her home in order and gardening. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dog, Angus. Above all, Lisa was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. She was a true inspiration for people all around the world for her strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to her family. Even while fighting her own battle with cancer for seventeen years, she never gave up hope or stopped fighting for her children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Lester D. Sayers.
Lisa is survived by her loving family, including her husband of thirty years, Ron Sayers; her daughter, Samantha Sayers, who went missing in 2018; her sons, Ryan and Ian Sayers (Cait); her sister, Leah Wall (Tom); her cherished grandchildren, Camden, Carter, and Lexi Sayers; her Aunt Willy Kenny; and her in-laws, Marion Sayers, Lester W. Sayers, David Sayers (Janice), and Vickie Yovich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lisa's name to The ANNA Shelter, 1555 E 10th St, Erie, PA 16511, or Because You Care, Inc., 6041 W Rd, McKean, PA 16426.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Lisa and I never met in person but she certainly left a mark on me. Her fighter spirit and determination to kick cancer's butt and her relentless pursuit to bring her daughter home are a true inspiration to anyone who paid attention! Ron and the rest of the family, you have my deepest condolences and are in my prayers. No doubt there's a tremendous void in your lives now but God loves you and knows the pain you're feeling. God bless you and keep you in his perfect peace

To a friend only known through distance, Lisa you were such a wonderful light. In your love, fight, dedication, inclusive acceptance--you created a congregation of strangers who loved not only you, but each other. I am better having known you existed and if even in my far removed connection to you, I feel this loss so deeply, I can only imagine the void left in those so close and dear to you.

Until, Lisa, until.

It started for me, like it started for many others, as a concern and caring support for Sam and all her loved ones. For me, as a Mom of 2 grown sons, I couldn't imagine, was scared to barely think of how Lisa was handling not knowing where her daughter was or if she was ok. But as Lisa shared her journey of everything she was going through, as a Mom and then her Cancer journey, I was enamored of such an amazing woman. She conducted herself with such positivity and fight. I would say to myself, I don't know how she does it, I've never encountered such strength in someone going through such heartbreak and cancer at the same time. She taught so many of us so many things. We were drawn to her positivity, her faith, her wisdom, and I can never forget her sense of humor, and none other than Pearl. I loved, respected and prayed for her, for Sam, and all of her family, who will always stay in my prayers. I hope she now knows that jubilation of being reunited with Sam. Heartfelt love and caring for all of her loved ones, till the circle is complete and you will all be together once again
