Lisa Vojtech Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 26, 2025.
Lisa Marie (Cherry) Vojtech
of Lino Lakes, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly of natural causes due to a history of blood clots on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. Lisa was born on October 31st, 1976 to Bob and Diane Cherry. She attended St. Joseph School K-8 and Rosemount High School. Lisa also received her 4-year degree in Social Work at Winona State University and her Master's degree in School Counseling at the University of Wisconsin River Falls.
Lisa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, who was always up for the many adventures with her husband and children. Her family loved fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, camping and four-wheeling together. Lisa and her family enjoyed many trips year-round to their cabin on the lake in Aitkin, MN as well as their 40 acres of land in Phillips, WI. She was so incredibly proud of her children and her love for them will live on in their hearts. Lisa was known for having a huge garden in their yard and raising chickens. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for her family as well as many others. She was a chili cook-off contender every year and accumulated a pretty impressive collection of trophies along the way!
Lisa worked as the Lead Teacher at Centennial High School Alternative Learning Center. She had a big passion for helping struggling teenagers to graduate, find their way in life, and feel accepted. Lisa was always able to form a bond with hard to reach students and never shied away from working with anyone.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 15 years, Nate, her children Ben (13) and Ava (11), her foster children Christina (25) and Mandeeann (18); parents Bob and Diane Cherry; siblings, Matt (Karen) Cherry, Josh (Kelly) Cherry, Angie (Mike) Wilson, Shannon (David) Carroll and Rachel (Mike) Anselmo; and many nieces and nephews.
Two events will honor Lisa's life:
A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan 31st from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church (13900 Biscayne Ave W. Rosemount MN 55068) followed by a Funeral Mass from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. A luncheon will be held immediately afterwards.
A more local Celebration of Life will also be held at the American Legion in Lino Lakes, MN on Saturday, February 1st from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and is an open-house format.
All are welcome to attend one or both events.

If I hadn't met Lisa 2 years ago, my child might not be on the path to graduating. A neighborhood friend connected us and Lisa and her foster daughter gave us an inspiring tour of the CALC. I am so grateful to have met such a caring soul. My deepest sympathies to all that loved her.
