It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Lloyd Norman Burger, who was born on April 7, 1946, and left us peacefully on June 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Lloyd lived a fulfilling life in Bessemer City, NC, where he touched many with his kindness and dedication.
Lloyd was a devoted member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and made a positive impact as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and served as a church trustee at Regan Wesleyan Church, years ago. His faith was a guiding light, especially during times of sickness, and he cherished his relationship with the Lord.
After a long and successful career at Wix Corporation, where he worked as a tool and die maker for 46 years, Lloyd retired with pride. He could often be found indulging in his favorite hobbies-fishing, woodworking, and enjoying classic cowboy movies. He loved taking trips to the mountains and traveling whenever he could.
Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy Williamson Burger, who will forever carry the memories of their life together in her heart; sons, Andy Burger (Kathy), Matthew Wayne Burger (Nancy); daughter, Sunshine Burger; mother, Mary Elizabeth Long; and sister, Laura Mackey (Donald).
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church 5306 Dallas Cherryville Hwy. Bessemer City NC 28016. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Lloyd's spirit and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed deeply.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Burger, Sr.; sister, Melinda Long; step father, Ray A Long, step mother, Angie Burger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
