Lloyd G. Hoover

Lloyd Guice Hoover, 84, of Shreveport, LA passed away on January 2, 2025. Born to Duson Elio Hoover, Sr. and Martha Ratcliff Hoover on June 9, 1940 in Frost, LA.
Lloyd graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelors, and worked as a professional engineer. He later went on to marry the love of his life, Bonnie Benoit Hoover. He explored multiple professional endeavors, he worked for Ardaman & Associates, previously known as Southwestern Laboratory, and he also owned many different businesses and rental properties.
Lloyd was referred to as "Gator Man" or "Louisiana Lloyd" and was well known for his love for the outdoors. His interests included fishing, hunting, golf, poker and LSU. While hunting and fishing may have been a hobby for him, it was more of a lifestyle and he had a passion for both. Lloyd was a family man, his children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He was a friend to many and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Eloise Effler, Ethel Harlow, and Odette Sallinger; brothers, Duson Hoover, Jr. and John Hoover.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie B. Hoover; daughter, Courtney Rush; sons, Ryan Hoover, Logan Hoover, and Scott Chaisson; grandchildren, Mia Mckenzie Hoover, Lakelyn Hoover, and Viktor Georgeff.
Pallbearers are Christion Vinas, Joey Abshire, Billy Carroll, Viktor Georgeff, Brent Manuel, Hugh Manuel, and Harold White.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris Ratley and Thomas Wise.
A funeral service to honor Lloyd's life will be held at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Ave., Shreveport, LA, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at noon. The interment will be held immediately after the service at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA.
