Lloyd Wayne Odom
Date Of Birth: 03/12/1940
Date of Death: 09/03/2024
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Lloyd Wayne Odom, 84 years of age, of Otis, Oregon, on September 3, 2024. Wayne was born in Conway, Arkansas, to Chester and Cleo Odom. Following graduation from high school, he married Martha Belcher in December of 1960. He later attended Portland Bible College. Wayne enjoyed teaching Bible studies through the years as a way to share his love of God's Word.
Wayne was a skilled carpenter and worked for Rodgers Organ Company as well as led multiple building projects during his career. He also worked for Sequent Computer Systems as a maintenance supervisor for the Manufacturing Department.
Wayne was a talented musician and singer. He enjoyed playing the guitar and being part of a country western band for many years. He was passionate about musical instruments. He also had a love for gospel music and songwriting. In 1994, he and his son, Dwayne, recorded an album titled "It Is Finished" which consisted of songs personally written by Wayne. This collection of songs was a meaningful representation of his faith in Jesus Christ.
Wayne was a gifted artist and thoroughly enjoyed woodworking with a special interest in woodcarving. He was also an amazing clay sculptor and was able to achieve elite success with the bronzing of some of his sculptures. Creative is a word that describes him very well. He had a passion for photography and particularly specialized in capturing pictures of wildlife, while also enjoying nature and his appreciation of the great outdoors.
Wayne is survived by his children, Dwayne Odom, Shelly (Darrell) Cleland, Marla (Bill) Stevens; grandchildren, Erick (Rebecca) Odom, Mikyna Odom, Alyssa (Mark) Delgado, Andrea Cleland, Sharenda Stevens, and Kirsten Stevens; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Elias; siblings, Doris Pounds, Charles "Bud" (Judy) Odom, Anita (Ray) Fain, and Linda (John) Peeler, as well as many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Bryan Odom, and his sister, Betty Gregory.
God blessed Wayne's family with the birth of a new life the day after his passing, another great-grandson, Jeremiah, firstborn of Alyssa and Mark Delgado. Wayne had been touched by hearing a recording of the baby's heartbeat just a few weeks prior. Of special note is that this newest addition arrived early and on the birthday of deeply missed and beloved family member, Bryan.
Wayne's final resting place will be at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard, Oregon. A small graveside service is planned for October 21, 2024, at 1pm.
Arrangements by Springer and Son Aloha Funeral Home.

The two photos was Carolyn's baptism and the wonderful Chrome Book Wayne gave me Christmas 2013. I miss him so much and remember so many things about our six years together. He has wonderful children and I wish them the best. Wayne's sister, Linda is an angel and I miss her. Mary

Wayne and I were a couple for six years. I met him at the Grange in McMinnville. We had a great love for each other, and I will miss him tremendously. He spoke fondly of how wonderful his children and grandchildren were. We shared a great love of gospel music and country music. We enjoyed Bible studies. Through Wayne, I learned about the wrongness of my Catholicism and became Pentecostal three years after we met. I remain the same today. Wayne built a set of steps for the baptismal just so my daugher and I would be safe. He attended our baptism in the Pentecostal church in McMinnville. We shared a love of nature, and he was teaching me about photography. He was a multi-talented man. I loved his creativity, and he loved my creativity through my writings. I often helped him punctuate the songs he was writing. LOL I love you Wayne and miss you. Mary Achee

I will never forget Wayne playing the part of Pontious Pilate in the play, Jesus of Nazareth. I thought he looked very regal.
