Lois Catino-3/4/1944-1/6/2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lois Catino, who left us on January 6, 2025, in Medford, Massachusetts. Born on March 4, 1944, in Malden, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of Italian immigrants the late Louis and Angelina Candelora (Monti), and the sister of the late Walter (BEAVE) Candelora & the late Joseph Candelora.
Lois was a beacon of love and kindness, known for her caring and sharing spirit. Lois worked countless hours to elevate her family. She was a loving wife & mother with intense family loyalty. She made people laugh at her gatherings, by playing the piano, beginning each song with a bar from "Red River Valley"! She dedicated many years of her life to serving the community through her work at Marshalls department store in Medford and later at the Davenport Memorial Home in Malden. Her warm smile and gentle nature touched the lives of countless individuals.
An exceptional cook, Lois had a true passion for entertaining family and friends. No one ever went hungry when they visited. There was always a plentiful array of deliciousness. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of home cooked meals, and her gatherings were a testament to her love for bringing people together. She created a welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt like family.
She was the devoted beloved wife of the late Anthony Paul Catino of Medford and is survived by her loving children: Lisa Catino and Tasha Lyman of Medford, Christine Catino and Edward Neal of Derry, NH, Anthony L. Catino and Alicia Catino of Medford. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher Catino, Anthony L. Catino ll, Tori Catino, Angelo Catino, and Style Catino, as well as a doting great-grandmother to Nevaeh Catino and Anthony Catino lll.
Lois was an extraordinary mother, wife, friend, and confidante. She cared deeply for those around her and gave so much love to her family and friends. She loved to dance like no-one was watching. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the spring, where all who knew her are invited to share their memories and honor Lois's remarkable spirit. Dance with Daddy in eternal peace Mommy We Love You Forever & Always

Dear Tony & family,
I wanted to express my sincere condolences of the loss of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother Lois. When we were all in boy scouts and in friendship, your mother was always welcoming whenever we came over. We have a saying in the Jewish faith that goes Nothing is lost while memories linger. Hold onto those memories and cherish them. They will help you navigate through these hard times. God Bless all of you and feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Sincerely,
Wayne Freedman
