Lois A. Hund, 83, of Kaneville, passed away March 21, 2025. She was born April 25, 1941 in DeKalb, IL, daughter of the late Ida and Junior Smith. Lois married the love of her life, Fred Hund, on November 9th, 1963. Together, they began their journey in Plano, IL, before moving to Kaneville, IL. They purchased a house in town and quickly turned it into a home where they raised their children.
Lois dedicated over 40 years of her life to working at Richardson Electronics. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in the simple pleasures-tending to her beautiful flower beds, which were lovingly adorned with lights for all to enjoy. Lois also made time for fitness and camaraderie, regularly attending exercise sessions with her friends at the Elburn Community Center on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Above all, Lois' door was always open for family and friends. She was known for her warm hospitality, always welcoming family and friends into her home with open arms and a kind heart.
Lois is survived by her children, Cindy Schermerhorn and son, Chad Hund; grandchildren, Mike Pankratz, Rudy (Sondra Moore) Pankratz, Jessica (Jonathan Pollnow) Lilliebridge, Cornelius (Kelsey) Greer and Nelson Greer; great-grandchildren, Bethany Pankratz, Katelyn Pankratz, Ernest Lilliebridge III, Emmalee Lilliebridge, Zayden Greer, Brenley Greer; brother, Chuck Gates as well as many nieces and nephews.
