Lois A. Kurth

Lois A. Kurth, 78, of Laureldale, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in the care of Penn State St. Joseph Hospital.
One of the 10 children born to the late Engelbert W. and Martha (Hoekstra) Gesink, Lois was born in Denver, CO. She is survived by her children: Roger L. Schelin Jr., husband of Joy, of Lehi, UT; Seth A. Schelin, husband of Jennifer, of London, U.K.; Amy J. Middlebrooks, wife of Jack, of Fountain Valley, CA; Christina A. Staudt, wife of Eric, of Fletcher, NC; Jason G. Kurth, husband of Rebecca, of Malvern, PA; and Geraline J. Holbrook, wife of Larry, of Maiden, NC; and her grandchildren: Joshua and Jonathan Schelin; Finlay and Emerson Schelin; Abigail and Samuel Middlebrooks; Ryssa and Jenna Staudt; Jamie and Sawyer Kurth; and Aiden and Audrianna Holbrook.
Lois was a woman of deep Christian faith who delighted in sharing word of Jesus's endless love for everyone. She loved her Savior greatly, and she found comfort in knowing she would one day meet Him. Her family knows she is with Him now.
Lois also enjoyed crochet, sharing joys through jokes, and time spent in nature. She shared with her children a deep appreciation for music.
After attending college on a music scholarship, she began her primary role as a mother at an early age. Throughout her life she held a variety of jobs which she balanced with raising her six children. She was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 17th, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville.
