Lois Jean Middleton passed away on January 18, 2025 at the St. Edward's Skilled Nursing Facility in Fairlawn, Ohio due to complications from Parkinson's and pneumonia. She was born on June 11, 1944 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Graham) Everett. She was so proud to be an Everett and a Graham. Lois graduated from David Anderson High School, Lisbon, Ohio in 1962 and Kent State University in 1966 with a degree in Elementary Education. She later went on to receive her masters degree from Akron University. She did her student teaching in her hometown of Lisbon, Ohio and then went on to teach grade school in the Parma School System, Massachusetts and California before returning to Ohio, where she found a home in the Wadsworth School System and specifically at Lincoln Elementary School. Perhaps some of you remember "Miss Everett" teaching her 4th grade students. She kept all your class pictures that she fondly saved. Lois met her husband, Ron, in the early 1990's while she was walking her golden retriever and he was walking his cat. It was love at first sight and they have been walking and hiking together ever since, celebrating 27 years of marriage on their last anniversary. They were able to spend vacations hiking in Nova Scotia, Acadia, Denali, and in the Red Rock Canyon in Sedona. They loved walking the beaches of Oregon, Hawaii, the Outer Banks and Ponce Inlet in Florida where they spent several winters. They loved walking through life wherever they were, as long as they were together. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Ron, whom she married on June 21, 1997. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth K. Everett, her sister Alice F. (Ross) Jackson, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, plus many cousins. Please know she loved every one of you. She is fondly remembered by her special group of friends, "the Kent State Girls" who have been close friends since dorm life at Kent State. Lois was preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Everett and an older sister, Helen, who passed away as a child before Lois was born. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A special thank you to her close friend, Kathy Horvath. They had a special bond of caring and friendship through many years. Also, a thank you to the staff at St. Edward's of Fairlawn who took care of Lois these last few months when she needed extra help. Memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, (give.michaeljfox.org) Lois' favorite charity. And give your spouse or child a hug and tell them you love them because we leave this world far too soon. One last thought from Ron: I knew from the moment we met, Lois was unique. I just want the world to know what a very special lady she was and always will be.

Dear Ron,
We are saddened to hear of Lois´s passing. She was such a sweet lady with a beautiful smile. She loved gardening and being outdoors. We will remember our conversations with Lois. It was evident she loved children too. She´d always come over when she is playing outside with Allie.
Sending all our love.

With sympathy,
The Ewings
