Lois Nugent Obituary

Lois devoted her life to caregiving. She was happiest when caring for children from her early days babysitting for families in Newtown through her later years looking after her own children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. She made her home a safe place where family and friends always knew they would be welcomed and cared for.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Nugent. Loving mother of Sharon Shaw (Jeffrey, Sr.), Brian Nugent (Tina Schuster) and Scott Nugent. Grandmother of Jaime, Jeffrey, Jr., Leah and Emma. Great grandmother of Sophia and Kayla. Also survived by her niece Linda Stires and her nephew Michael Crawford. Predeceased by her siblings Theresa A. Crawford and Robert T. Scott.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lois' Life Celebration Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 E. Washington Ave., Newtown, PA 18940. Followed by her Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Newtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois' memory may be made to Greenwood House Hospice at https://www.greenwoodhouse.org/giving/. The family would like to share a special "Thank You" to the staff members for their excellent care and compassion throughout this time.

I meant Lois some fifty years ago, we were waiting for the school bus. As days went by we started talking. One day after our kids got on the bus Lois invited me in her house for coffee. From that day, on many many mornings, we had coffee together and became friends. Lois was always so kind, helpful and a good listener I always enjoyed our chats . As years went by I started working full time, ( sadly no more coffee mornings) We would occasionally talk. Time has gone by so fast but I will never forget our talks, laughs, good times and coffee mornings.
My prayers and thoughts are with Lois´s family.
