Salem - Lois Mae Sutherin, age 93, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Born to Floyd and Margaret Mulch, Lois lived a life full of quiet strength, kindness, and deep love for her family.

For 19 years Lois served as a nurse’s aid at the Salem Convalescence Center, where she cared for others with compassion. Outside of work, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures, she had a deep love of flowers and birds, and her gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Lois’ life was a testament to quiet resilience and unwavering love. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends.

Lois is remembered by her children, Margaret Cox, John (Diane) Sutherin, Kevin (Elizabeth) Sutherin and Robert Sutherin. She was a grandmother to ten grandchildren and a great grandmother to eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Louise M. Pegg, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy Sutherin; her two sons, Gene Sutherin and Richard Sutherin and two brothers Robert Mulch and Charles McKnight.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 7:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Angel Beverly officiating.
