Murfreesboro, NC - Lola Sykes "Lou" Liverman, 94, of Murfreesboro, NC passed away peacefully on the 14th of August 2025 at Bon Secours Southampton Medical Center after a long illness. She was born on October 1, 1930 in Roanoke Rapids, NC and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children Andy Liverman of Arlington, VA, and Julie West of Murfreesboro, NC, their spouses, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joe Liverman. Friends and family remember them as a loving and fun couple who both had a delightful and high-spirited sense of humor and widely shared their welcoming hospitality. Lou was known for her warmth, generosity, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She had a great sense of adventure and a joyful zest for life. She had an entrepreneurial flair, starting several small businesses before joining the Choanoke Area Development Association (CADA) in 1971 and retiring as Program Manager of the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program where she worked to help low income and vulnerable families to obtain housing. Lou's joys in retirement included antiquing, visiting with friends, sharing her cooking talents, and being a vital part of the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed. Our family would like to thank the staff of Bon Secours East Pavilion and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in her memory. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
