Lola Ozman Obituary

Lola was born in Wages (Yuma County), Colorado on November 7, 1927, to Frank Filmore and Sara Iona Lett, the first of 5 children. She attended Buffalo Grass grade school, graduated from Phillips County High School (1945) and continued studies at Colorado Agricultural College (now CSU) for 2 years.
Lola met her husband, Dale, in 1946 at Pine Crest Church Camp. They were engaged on December 24th, married June 22,1947, and cherished 62 years together. During their marriage three children were born, son Dennis, daughters Cynthia, and Rhea. Dale and Lola lived in Midland, Texas from 1949 to 1952 before moving to Denver. When they settled in South Denver, they joined University Park United Methodist Church (1957) and were lifelong members. Lola was active in the choir, bible studies, UMW (the women's organization), in "Show, Tell, Create" (made the Chrismons), served as Wedding Reception Chairperson for many years, and received the "Quiet Disciple" award in 2017. Lola knew the love of God in Jesus Christ and was greatly inspired by God's creation in her painting.
Lola expressed her gifts of creativity through millinery, sewing, crochet, floral arrangements, oil painting, and then finally found her true passion: China painting. This became her focus from 1977 on as a member of Panorama, Mile High, and the World Organization of China Painters. She sold Vanda Beauty Counselor cosmetics, was an avid bridge player, ballroom dancer, neighborhood garden club member and 50+ year member of her beloved PEO chapter. She discovered a love for travel with Dale and together they explored the world. Lola continued her travel through the Fall of 2022. The family would often spend weekends at the farm or the family cabin in Eldora where they would hike and cross-country ski, and take yearly vacations across the US, Canada, and Mexico. Later on, weeks at a time were spent in a Breckenridge condo and other Colorado locations.
Lola is survived by her youngest sister, Janette (Darwin) Benedict of Yuma, Colorado; her sister-in-law Sharron Lett of Holyoke, Colorado; her son, Dennis Ozman of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; her daughter Cynthia (Gary) Johnson of Lafayette, Colorado; her daughter Rhea Jones of LaPorte, Colorado; and her eight cherished grandchildren, Eric Ozman of Branson, Missouri; Stacy (Brett) Koesser of Louisburg, Kansas; Erin (Ben) Johanson of Pleasant Hill, California; Zach (Ann) Johnson of El Dorado Hills, California; Rachelle (Phillip) Nelson of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Nicole Versaw (Patrick Weeg) of Aurora, Colorado; Christian (Leanna) Jones of Wellington, Colorado; Autumn (Joshua) Wishart of Loveland, Colorado; and eleven delightful great grandchildren, Abigail Koesser, Connor (Ali) Koesser; Eli and Ezra Johanson; Aurora, Scarlett and Natasha Nelson; Juliette Weeg, Tovi, Judah, and Talia Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale, parents, sister Vivian, brother-in-law Milt, brother Harris, infant brother Samuel.
