On September 3, 2025, Lola Crystal Palmer of Kenedy, Texas passed away. She was born on February 21, 1944, in Spearfish, South Dakota, to parents Crystal and Ray Palmer.

Lola spent most of her childhood in Ekalaka, Montana. There she enjoyed visiting her aunt Gussie's ranch and helping her cousins tend to their usual responsibilities. As well as occasionally getting into a little mischief with her cousin Sharon and her siblings Burch and Diana. They bonded over their love for home-making activities. Cooking, baking, canning and sewing. All things that she continued to enjoy throughout her life, so much that she shared the experience with her grandchildren, teaching each one of them how to make fudge and other goods for the Karnes County Youth Show.

Lola also spent much of her youth in Miles City, Montana. She shared many memories of the Montana Bar where she bartended and the Alta Saloon.

Lola also had a great love for animals. She dedicated a great portion of her life to developing her miniature donkey business, Arrow Creek Miniatures. Through this work, she made lifelong friends, both two and four-legged. There were many fun memories and she always had a favorite or two. Patrick, Houdini, Kostas, Kisses, Mrs. Ed and Dinki to name a few.

Lola eventually relocated to Kenedy, Texas. Not long after, her mom and oldest granddaughter followed, and within a few years, her two children and five of her grandchildren also became residents of the area.

Lola found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed spending time and having meals with her mom. Some of her favorite shows included reruns of Gene Autry, Gun Smoke, Reba and Two and a Half Men. She also loved old country music. Most notably, she raised her children and grandchildren to the tunes of Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Ian Tyson and Burch Ray. And of course, she loved taking her dog Hitch for joy rides on the Kubota.

Lola had a unique and lasting relationship with each person whose life she touched. To some, she was a constant presence, always ready to listen. To others, she created cherished childhood memories. Many credit her with shaping who they are today, believing their lives would not be the same without her influence.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Crystal and Ray Palmer, and her siblings Diana and Billy. She is survived by her children, Corina Venable (Brandon) and Kurt Cochran; her brothers, Burch (Linda) and Lloyd; her six grandchildren, Jessie, Kyler, Maci, Wyatt, Eyanosa, and Joselyn; and her two great-grandchildren, Emma and Ella.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Bluebonnet Nursing and Rehab and Crown Hospice for the care they provided Lola.

Private services for the immediate family will be held.
