Lonny Gene Skow, 71, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, from a blood infection. He was born Dec. 13, 1953, to Gene and Ruby Jane (Kessler) Skow, in Lewiston.
Lonny and three siblings were born into a family who ran the sawmills in Lewiston, where they learned the value of hard work at an early age. Lonny graduated from Lewiston High School. He married Chris Skow, they had two children, Angie and Jeremy, and later divorced. His marriage to Vicki Russell brought another daughter, Megan, into his life; they later divorced. He then married Cindy Skow, with whom he would spend the rest of his life.
He later moved to White Sulphur Springs, Mont., before returning to Lewiston, where he owned and operated Skow's Custom Cutting slaughter house and meat shop business for many years. He later worked for the Leachman family who operated Lewiston Seafoods and enjoyed many great years in that position. After that business closed, Lonny continued to drive truck for Sysco Foods until his retirement.
Lonny "never met a stranger" and was always taking care of, and thinking of others. He thought the best of people – a gentleman's handshake was honorable to him in settling a matter. He loved hunting and fishing, a passion he enjoyed sharing with others.
Lonny held his family and friends close, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids, who were very special to him. Above all, until his last breath, Lonny's only job that he would never retire from was being there for all his family - always.
Lonny is survived by his wife, Cindy Skow, of Lewiston; daughter Angie (Paul) Lowry, of Lewiston; son Jeremy Skow, of Lewiston; daughter Megan (Milo) Abeyta, of Hydro, Okla.; sister Robin Skow (Mike), and brother Mike (Cheri) Skow, both of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Skow and Janie Skow-Wakefield; sister Denise Samuels; maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
Per Lonny's request no services will be held. Memorials in his name can be given to the charity of your choice.
