Loralee Marie Kliebert Braud, known to everyone as Lory, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Loralee was born October 16, 1938 to the late Brierre and Hazel Dupuy Kliebert, in Lafourche Crossing, Louisiana. After graduating from Holy Name of Mary in Algiers, Louisiana in 1956, she met US Air Force E2, Lawrence O. (Larry) Braud. She and Larry were married in 1960 and eventually moved to Baton Rouge where they settled and were married for 64 years.
Lory was the heart and soul of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to read, work in her garden, and was a master at solving crossword puzzles. In her earlier years, she enjoyed volunteering as an Adult Literacy Advocate and participated in local walking clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Brierre and Hazel Dupuy Kliebert; siblings, Barbara (David) Kliebert Schulte, Donald Kliebert, Peggy Kliebert, Philip Kliebert, and Steve (Barbara) Kliebert.
Lory is survived by her loving husband, Larry and her four children, Kathleen Braud of Baton Rouge, Sharyn Smith of Sorrento, Michele McKee of Walker, and Lawrence O. “Larry” (Melinda) Braud, Jr. of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, James (Megan) Ellis, Taylor (Anthony) Bostler, Rachel Merchant, Lori (Todd) Keeton, and Kayla McKee; her great-grandchildren, Nathan Ellis, Evie Ellis, Tegan Keeton, Tatum Keeton and Felix Bostler; and her sister Dianna Kliebert Allen.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. until funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
