Lore Bamberger (nee Kramer), age 97, passed away peacefully on October 27th at Rydal Park Medical Center. She was the only child of Edwin and Emma Kramer and was born on January 23rd, 1927, in Stuttgart, Germany. She emigrated to the United States in 1934 at the age of seven. Raised in Philadelphia she began her career as an industrious young woman at Gimbels department store in the bridal department. She loved telling the story about walking in the Thanksgiving Day parade as a balloon wrangler in a clown costume.
She eloped with her husband, Frank in 1956 and were married 49 years until his passing in 2005. She worked in banking most of her adult life at Girard Bank, Western Savings Bank, and PSFS. Retirement brought many trips including cruises, Atlantic City casinos, and weekend vacations with Frank's classmates from Girard College. Although being raised and starting her family in Lawndale section of Philadelphia, she relocated and spent most of her adult life living in the Somerton section of Philadelphia before moving to Rydal Park in 2016.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian Bamberger (Lisa) and Gary Bamberger (Liz); three granddaughters, Emma Regan (John), Abigail Bamberger and Madison Bamberger; and two nieces, Michelle Oswald (Robert) and Julia Herrmann (Robert). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis, and her grandson, Erick.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:15 am on Saturday, November 2nd followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am both at Immaculate Conception BVM Church 602 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046.
