Lorene Jordan, age 79, of
Vanceburg, Kentucky, sweetly entered the gates of heaven surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, November 14, 2025 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born October 27, 1946 in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Roy Wilburn and Rosie Margaret (Parson) Wilburn.
Lorene was a member of Carter Christian Holiness Church in Carter City, Kentucky and previously for a span of twenty years during the winter months, attended First Freewill Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida.
She retired from Cowden's Manufacturing in Olive Hill, Kentucky and spent the rest of her years as a homemaker.
Lorene was a co-host with her husband Roy, of the Jordan Gospel Singing for 19 years at their family home, where she worked tirelessly in the kitchen making her famous apple cakes and other desserts. Heaven was surely made sweeter with lives being touched at each nightly service of music and the gospel message.
Lorene enjoyed watching golf, Jeopardy, and playing Phase 10 or dominoes. When she was able, she was most known for her handsewn quilts made with such craftmanship that she received many prize ribbons and even the honor of hanging at Greenbo State Park.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Roy Jordan, now reunited again. Also, by one great grandchild, Carson Wade Allen.
She is survived by all three children, daughter, Margaret (Kenneth) Cooper of
Vanceburg, Kentucky; son William Alfred (Cindy Chinn) Jordan of South Point, Ohio; son Ithel Dwayne (Angie) Jordan of
Vanceburg, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Donna Jean Skidmore of
Garrison, Kentucky, Kenneth Jesse Cooper of
