Lorene Allison Sateren

Lorene Allison Sateren of Thief River Falls, MN (formerly McVille, ND) passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the age of 93.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Center Lutheran Cemetery, rural McVille, ND.
Lorene was born May 25, 1931 to Earl and Lillian (Rawson) Heller at Sherwood, ND. She grew up in Mapes, ND and graduated from Lakota High School in 1949. Lorene attended Mayville State and NDSU pursuing a degree in education. On August 12, 1951 Lorene married Clifford Sateren in the Lakota Congregational Church.
Lorene taught school in a 2 room schoolhouse in Mapes, was a rural mail carrier in the Mapes area, and often the bookkeeper at the elevators that Clifford managed. She enjoyed baking and sharing with neighbors, making blankets for the great grandchildren and was proud to be one of the ladies who founded the McVille Library.
Wherever they lived she was always involved in Ladies Aid and Christian Women's groups.
Lorene is survived by her children; Lance (Judy) Sateren of Fergus Falls, MN ; Corene (Merlyn) Hermanson of Roswell, GA; Cathy (Jeff) Loe of Thief River Falls, MN and Corey (Carol) Sateren of Albuquerque, NM; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren with another due this year; sisters-in-law Grace Sateren, Bernice Johnson, Mary Jane Pflaum and Joan Sateren; brother-in-law Lorne Sateren and many nieces and nephews.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, sister Donna Dockter and numerous in-laws.
