Loretta Rice Belcher

Loretta Rice Belcher, 81, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, surrounded by her devoted sons and family. Services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest beside her husband of 54 years, Elmer, in Oaklawn Cemetery, 720 South Camellia Boulevard in Fort Valley. Chaplain Linda Marcola will officiate.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late James and Betty Rice, Mrs. Belcher had been employed as a factory worker and secretary, but her most rewarding job was working as an artist. She enjoyed painting, especially tole painting, being a member of the Tulsa Town Tolers, and gardening.
Survivors include her sons, Robert L. Belcher, William J. Belcher (Sherry), and Elmer L. Belcher (Pam); grandchildren, Lee Belcher, Josh Belcher, Brian Degitz, and Tiffany Arrvia; ten great grandchildren; and brothers in law, James O. Belcher and Ralph W. Belcher. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Leroy Belcher, and a daughter in law, Claudette Belcher.
