Loretta Jean Talbot was born on January 13, 1940. She was raised by two loving parents, Daniel and Loretta May Talbot.
On April 5, 1958 she married Junius Junior Shupe. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple on December 1, 1972. Together through their journey of marriage, they had 5 children: Richard, Jay, Lorrie, Glenna, and Aaron (Hilary).
Loretta loved her family with all her heart and showed her love in many different ways. One of the ways she would show this is through her cooking, she was one heck of a good cook and would share this as often as she could. She also was the best seamstress. At one point she tailored clothes for the town officials/lawyer and after they would not allow anyone else to do their clothes but her. She would make quilts and outfits for her family, including one time where she sewed a quilt and drove at the same time. Even though she had moved, she ended up back in Ogden and retired from the IRS.
She spent her last years living in her home with her granddaughter Denise, who has been her care giver for several years and we are all very thankful for her.
Loretta loved all her grandchildren and the texts, visits, calls, and flowers she would receive from them all would lift her spirits, they often referred to her as their "Beautiful Grandma".
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Loretta and Daniel, her husband Junior, sons Richard and Jay, son in-law Gene, grandson Justin, sister Ellen, and brother Dan.
She is survived by her sister Rose "RV" Ostrup, brother Dave (Carmen) Talbot, her children Lorrie Fowler, Glenna Shupe, and Aaron (Hilary) Shupe, 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Loretta Shupe's life will be held on Monday at 10 am at the Millcreek Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 770 15th Street,
