Lori L. Lollis Stokes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 15 to Mar. 17, 2024.
Our beautiful Lori went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2024. Born June 4, 1971, Lori grew up in Spokane, WA and attended Ridgeview Elementary, Salk Jr High, and Shadle Park High Schools. As an accomplished athlete, she helped to lead the Highlander volleyball and basketball teams to becoming back-to-back State Champions 1987-88, 1988-89. Lori attended both San Diego State and WSU, where she continued her basketball career and met her future husband, Cameron Stokes. After graduation, they married and had two beautiful daughters while stationed in Hawaii. Several years were spent living in Germany, while they finally settled down in Severna Park, MD. Passionate about everything she set her mind to, Lori loved working with children as an Occupational Therapist, working at Trader Joes, and especially being a mom. Lori will be greatly missed by all who have ever been touched by her kindness and generosity. She is survived by her daughters, Taylor Stokes and Shannon Stokes, former husband, Cameron Stokes, parents, Norb and Bev Lollis, siblings, Terry Lollis and Kathy (Lollis) Hutchinson, as well as numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4420 N Jefferson St, Spokane, WA 99205.

I met Lori through out Women's Book Club. I enjoyed all our conversations about the books we read. She will be missed.

I'm so full of sorrow for hearing this. Lori participated with an inclusive learning panel that I put together in Feb. 23. We also hung out a few times, including to this "silent party" she'd discovered. It was ahead of the curve and something unique. Which was her, unique. She was intrigued by water as art the last time we saw each other. I'm sorry for the families loss, and our loss as a society because she was truly this aware, cultured and peaceful soul. It didn't seem she had a biased bone in her body. My heart goes out to her family. (The episode: https://youtu.be/B9ih1yrQjuU?si=qQ0Dk2uDCSXutTOC)

Lori and I first crossed paths at a youth group gathering at St. Francis of Assisi. Our friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship during our high school days. She exuded kindness and beauty, her smile radiating warmth and lighting up any room she entered.
