Lori A. Lehr, 59, of York, PA entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Lori was born in York, PA on May 7, 1964 to the late Michael E. and Sharron J. "Peg" (Welsh) Kinard. Throughout her life Lori blessed everyone she came in contact with. She was an amazing wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt and friend. Her shining personality made everyone smile and feel special. She worked at Valley View Elementary School for 27 years where she enjoyed interacting with kids, making a positive impact on each one who walked through her lunch line. Lori truly lived each day to the fullest and had so much love for those who surrounded her. She loved spending time with her husband, who was her best friend, her granddaughters, who adored her, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many but her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her. She was an inspiration to everyone and with her caring heart and selfless personality, she earned her angel wings far before she went to heaven. She encouraged us all to Live Like Lori, everyday. Her light will shine bright for eternity because the sun never sets on a badass.
Lori is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 32 years, Dennis W. Lehr; daughter Kaila A. Loew and husband Matt; son Luke M. Lehr and wife Raquel; two beautiful granddaughters Charley Rose and Mila Jo; sister Sherry Jones; brother Michael Kinard and wife Karen; nieces, nephews and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law.
A visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024 at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jay McWilliams officiating. Lori would want this to be a joyous occasion so to honor her wishes please avoid wearing black attire if possible. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will also be announced at a later date.

Lori and I were friends when we were in school together. She was always so sweet and kind and we had lots of serious talks, laughter and so much fun! From late night car rides in her Capri, a van trip to a concert years before and talking about "boys" and "crack the window, it's getting too smokey in here"! She loved life and had such a vibrant, caring and joyful energy; a bright light! I smiled when I saw the line in her tribute about the sun never setting...I can picture her saying that and it's true. I'm so sorry that she couldn't stay longer and my heart goes out to all of her loved ones. I am happy for those of us who had the privilege of knowing her and basking in that light. Yes, we should embrace every moment and love life and live like Lori! I won't ever forget her and I hope your memories and the unbreakable, eternal love you share will be a comfort to you always.
