Lori A. Matuza, age 56 of Ewing, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Capital Health Hopewell Medical Center. Born in Bristol, PA, Lori lived in Yardley for many years before moving to Ewing five years ago.
She was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, Class of 1985, where she was a 4 year member of the Varsity Tennis Team and was very successful competing in single and double matches. Lori earned her B.S. Degree in Economics from West Virginia University in 1989, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. While at WVU, , she was inducted into the Omirron Delta Epsilon Honor Society of Economics. After college, Lori had numerous career advancements with various position titles and eventually retired from the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey in Cherry Hill, NJ as Vice President of Development and Public Relations where she was employed for five years. Lori was an avid traveler who relished in being in the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading, but most of all spending time with family and friends and her beloved dogs.
Daughter of the late Albert C. Matuza, Jr., she is survived by her mother Carol (Perkins) Matuza of Pennington, NJ, a sister Kristal L. Klotz of Pennington, two uncles Robert G. Matuza and Leonard (Kathy) Matuza, a nephew Justin C. Klotz, her longtime friend Brian Gusz and several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Reverand Olga Gonzalez, Pastor, will officiate. Her interment will be held privately
Friends may call on May 4th from 10-11 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution, in Lori’s name, to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19103, or to EASEL Animal Rescue League, Shelter and Pet Adoptions, (www.easelnj.org), or to the Trenton Animal Shelter, 72 Escher St., Trenton, NJ 08609.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
