Lori Lynn Steinbach (née Donnan), age 55, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025. She was born on October 10, 1969, to William Donnan Sr. and Janice Marie Nestle.

Lori lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and love for both people and animals. She dedicated her career as an HR Specialist before retiring, where she was known for her professionalism, empathy, and unwavering support of others. Lori was especially proud of the work and dedication it took to earn her Master's degree. She saw it not only as a personal achievement, but also as a testament to her perseverance and determination to better herself and inspire those around her. Beyond her work, she found joy in the simple but meaningful pleasures of life-caring for her pets, crafting, sharing good food, and spending time with those she loved.

She shared her life with her beloved companion, Adam, with whom she built a warm and loving relationship. They first met online and shared their first date at Lupita's Restaurant in Mexicantown-a memory they often cherished. Their 3 ½ years together were filled with laughter, support, and love, including small but special moments such as Adam helping fix her stove on their first date.

Lori is survived by her siblings Bill (Kim) Donnan, Shelly Sears, and Kevin; her aunt, Linda Cruz; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and cousins. She is also survived by her mom's significant other Chuck Cook and his children, Ryan Cook and Jennifer Cook; as well as dear friends Rhonda, Dar, and Kathy. She will also be fondly remembered for the love she had for her pets-Hazel, her sweet squirrel "Baby," and Tinkerbell, her cherished cat "Sweetie."

Known for being compassionate, caring, fun-loving, gentle, and smart, Lori brightened the lives of all who knew her. She especially adored cats and squirrels, enjoyed crafting, and delighted in family gatherings and quiet moments of snuggling with her loved ones.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in her journey.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local animal shelter in Lori's memory.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a service beginning at 3:30 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Lori's life.

Lori's remains will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wyandotte.
