Lori Ellen Wert, 55 of Mooresville, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, at 5:09 PM at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington with loved ones by her side. She had courageously battled breast cancer since 2018. Lori's life began on Friday, October 24th, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late McDaniel Eugene Sanders and Carol Lee (Pryor) Payne. Lori lived the majority of her life in Indiana, aside from six years in Wyoming from 2017-2023. She returned to Indiana in 2023, to be near her family, which was her heart and soul. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Family cookouts, coaching and watching her daughter play softball over the years, doing arts and crafts and helping her friend at her flower shop were among some of her favorite pastimes. All who were blessed to know her would undoubtedly agree that she loved the color purple and was a mother to all! Her life and legacy will be remembered and celebrated by her family and friends including her husband, Joseph Wert of Wheatland, WY; daughters, Halee Hessler (husband, Jaymes) of Mooresville, IN, and Sasha Fletcher of
Martinsville, IN; son, Tyler Strawder (wife, Amber) of Mooresville, IN; three stepsons, Koty Wert (wife, Kayla) of

Along with her parents, Lori was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Lovins and one sister, Mandy Lovins. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville.
