Ms. Lorinda Sherina VanDuyn, age 54, a resident of Polk City, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Ms. VanDuyn was born March 4, 1969 in Wauchula, Florida to James Earl and Althea Lorine (Suggs) Owens. She was a resident of Polk County since 1988 coming from Hardee County, Florida. Lorinda attended Auburndale schools and was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, boating, shopping, making different jams & jellies and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her paternal & maternal grandparents; husband – Charles Paul VanDuyn, Jr.; son – Charles Caleb "Kale" VanDuyn and brother – Leavie Owens. Lorinda is survived by her loving & devoted family, her parents – James & Lori Owens; 2 sons – Anthony James "AJ" VanDuyn and Zaylen Charles Owens; 2 daughters – Candida Rochelle Owens and Cierra Jackson; 2 brothers – Christopher Morgan Owens and William Randall Owens; 4 sisters – Michelle Pacific, Kathy Ann Mendez, Melissa Torres and Elizabeth "Beth" Carter; 5 grandchildren – Levi Marquett, Jett Caleb, Lola Jane, Waylen James and Destiny Terra. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Friday, February 2 at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Green Pond Cemetery in Polk City.
