Lorraine Chambers Curley, 78, of Eure, NC passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her residence on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Lorraine was the devoted wife of Fred C Curley for 60 years. She was the daughter of Albert and Josephine Chambers, both deceased. She was one of ten children and preceded in death by Ray Chambers, Jr, William “Wiggles” Chambers, Chester Lee Chambers, Phyllis Butcher, Gary Chambers, Peggy Chambers, and Shirley Ingram. Surviving siblings are Jean Ward and Joe Chambers.
Lorraine was a loving matriarch to her family. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Fred Timothy Curley and wife Jennifer, and their children, Chandler Curley and wife, Tara, Jarod Curley and wife, Carleigh, and Colleen Curley and fiancé, Nathan; and her daughter, Sheila Curley Felton and her children, Jessie Felton Hacker and her husband, Shawn, and Luke Felton and his fiancé, Taylor. The joy of her heart were her great grandchildren, Lilley, Adaline, Jase, Waylon and Violet.
Lorraine was a dedicated homemaker, as well as working 30 years at Ridgecroft School. Being deeply rooted in her faith, she had a heart of gold sharing true Christian love with everyone she met.
The family will greet friends at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Gatesville, NC from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Gatesville, NC with Rev. John Porter officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, 1460 U.S. Hwy. 137, Eure, NC 27935. Immediately following the committal service, there will be a reception with the family in the fellowship hall of Cool Spring Baptist Church.
