It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine M. Estes, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Lorraine left us peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born to John and Olala Mathews on March 17, 1944, Lorraine's life was a testament to resilience and dedication. A devoted wife for 58 years to Jimmie D. Estes, Lorraine cherished her family deeply and was a nurturing presence in their lives. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Dale Estes Riley (Rob), her cherished granddaughters Carrie Dale Landis (Kellen) and Tabitha Kay, as well as her beloved dog, FancyGirl. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Alexa, Shylee, Kaide, and Collins Landis, and through her many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine had a courageous spirit as a breast cancer survivor and was passionately involved in breast cancer awareness initiatives. She created a warm and inviting home, filled with love and laughter, where everyone felt welcome. Her tastes in music spanned generations, from the harmonies of George and Tammy to the energetic melodies of Bon Jovi and Journey. In her early years, she found joy in reading every book by Danielle Steele and enjoyed collecting carousel music boxes.
In her retirement, Lorraine embraced the modern world with enthusiasm, often found playing games on her iPad, proving that she was always open to new experiences. She was known for her loving nature, always ready to lend a helping hand or an empathetic ear to those in need.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, her parents, and one daughter, Nicky Morton. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed and loved by her family.
