Lorraine Angie (Hernandez) Gonzales-Garcia was born June 11th,1948 in East Los Angeles, California the daughter of Manuel and Jovita (Chavez) Hernandez. She passed away Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones in Abilene, KS.
Lorraine graduated from Garfield High School in East Los Angeles, CA and was a payroll administrator for Riley Food Services on Ft. Riley for 31 years.
On October 22nd, 1967 in Monterey, California she married Alfred Gonzales Sr. and were married for 33 years. She was remarried September 24th, 2001 to Nick Garcia in Abilene, KS.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, arts and crafts, creating beaded jewelry, coffee, reading, celebrating the holidays, family gatherings, family dinners, and taking care of her maltese dogs, Kasper, Chewy, ( both in doggy heaven), Angel, and Maramani currently of the home with Nick.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Nick Garcia of the home. Two daughters Arlene Newton of Midway, GA, Anissa Gonzales of Apple Valley, CA, one son Alfred Gonzales Jr and wife Jessica Gonzales of Abilene, KS, and former son in laws Gerald Newton II of Texarkana, TX and Glynn Ragas of Denham Springs, LA. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Gerald Newton III, Marcus Newton, Ariana Newton, Jamelle Ragas, Malea Ragas, Jaron Ragas, and Vanessa Gonzales. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Aminah Newton, Liliana Ragas, Alyza Newton, Alorah Newton and Marcus Newton Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gary and sister Armida and first husband Alfred Sr.
Lorraine chose cremation and no services to be held per her request. She was a strong woman with a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, selfless, opened her home to all and loved her family unconditionally. Nick Garcia truly loved his wife and will miss and cherish their time together as a married couple.
