Lorraine C. Murphy

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine C. Murphy, a beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world peacefully on December 13, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 20, 1938, in Fall River, MA., Lorraine was a warm and vibrant presence in the lives of many, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, and a glass of wine!

Lorraine spent most of her career as an office manager at Paradise Cleaning Company in the disaster restoration industry, where her organization and dedication shone brightly. A proud graduate of Durfee High School, she took commercial courses that would serve her well throughout her professional journey. Beyond her work life, Lorraine cherished her role as a Girl Scout leader and camp counselor, infusing her love for the outdoors and community into the lives of countless young girls.

Lorraine was a woman of many interests: she was an expert seamstress and quilter, a talented cake-decorator, an avid crafter, and a voracious reader. Her evenings often found her immersed in crosswords and word puzzles, a testament to her sharp mind and playful spirit. Above all, her love for family and friends was the cornerstone of her life-the laughter shared, hugs exchanged, and moments cherished will be deeply missed.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Kelly Murphy, her son-in-law, Martin Larry, her brothers, Robert and Ronald Correia, and many nieces and nephews, along with a circle of family and friends who held her dear.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Murphy, and her parents, Manuel and Stachia Correia.

In celebration of Lorraine's life, a memorial service will be held on December 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
