Lorraine Margaret Spiro

Lorraine M. Spiro (nee Cox), aged 73, of Bay Village, Ohio, formerly of Kalgoorlie, Australia, Shaker Heights, OH, San Mateo, CA, and Annandale, New Jersey, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 1, 1951, to Eric James and Margaret Jean (nee Dyson) Cox, Lorraine's journey was marked by compassion, artistry, and an unwavering love for her family.A talented soul, Lorraine earned her bachelor's in fine arts with Highest Honors from Rutgers University, followed by a master's degree from Case Western Reserve University. She dedicated her career to nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, where her nurturing spirit positively impacted countless lives. Lorraine's passions included running marathons and road races with her husband Timothy, swimming, and exploring the world through travel. Her artistic talents flourished in both acrylics and watercolors, reflecting the beauty she found in life.Lorraine's strongest bonds were formed within her family. She thrived in the company of her loved ones, relishing her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her cherished memories extend to her beloved husband of 53 years, Timothy Spiro; her loving children, Alan Thompson, Ben Spiro, and Amanda Igel (David); and her precious granddaughter, Olivia Lorraine. She is also survived by her dear mother, Margaret Jean Cox; brother, Graeme Cox; brother-in-law, Perry Robinson; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her adored grand-dog, Harley.Lorraine is predeceased by her father, Eric James Cox, and her sister, Janet Robinson.In honoring Lorraine's legacy, the family will hold private funeral services to celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on those around her.
