Louie Lopez, age 64, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away to be with our Lord on October 19, 2024, on his land in San Luis, Colorado. He is survived by his children Monica Lopez, Leonard Lopez, and wife Jennifer. Louie was survived by five grandchildren; Lorissa, Shylah, Israel, Antonio, and Leandra Lopez. He was also survived by his sister Lucy Lopez, his brothers Felix Lopez, Nemecio and wife Ramona, Ernest and wife Cathy, Charlie and wife Reyes. Louie is preceded in death by his wife Debra, his parents Nemecio and Pauline, his brother Gene (Tito) , his sisters Lola Lucero, and Benita Deleon. Louie grew up in the North Valley where he had nicknames such as Weasel, Jigz, Dallas, and Luiso.
Louie was a man of God who taught everyone around him to be strong and taught everyone around him tough love. Louie cared for his bedridden wife for many years. When Debra passed away Louie had a tough time handling life without his wife and felt defeated by many things, but he never let that stop him. He always remained very strong-minded and one of his strongest beliefs was that you gotta keep pushing and you can rest when you die. He was a strong believer in the Catholic faith. He would always make sure he preached to everyone he spoke with about God the Father and the only way to the Father was through Jesus Christ. Louie knew in his heart that when his time came he was going to enter the gates of heaven and that he would be with God for all eternity. There was no doubt in his mind that he was going to Heaven because he knew the Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit. He made sure he instilled these beliefs in his children and grandchildren and anyone else whom he could get to believe. He would be so proud to hear how he touched the lives of many of the young men in his neighborhood and how they are speaking of the things he told them in life. Louie loved to spend time on his land out in Colorado. He once said he felt he was closer to God when he was out there. We believe it brought peace to his mind and his heart. Louie’s passing is a wonderful thing for him; he's back with his wife, his parents, and most importantly he is with God. He will be greatly missed by many whose lives he touched. His passing also brings heartache to many.
