KEGLEY – Louie Edward Mullens, 89, of Kegley, died Friday, October 20, 2023. Born March 25, 1934, in Keystone, WV, he was the son of the late McKinley Mullens and Dathell McKinney Mullens.
Louie was a member of the Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton. He served 20 years in the US Air Force in Morroco, 3 years in North Africa, one year in Thailand, Washington, and Ohio. He was an aircraft mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Howerton Mullens; son, David Wayne Mullens; and sisters, Violet Wickline,Vennie Green, Alice McPeak, and Marilyn Cheeks.
Survivors include four children, Louie Mullens, Jr and wife Deborah, Deborah Cook, and Beverly Wessell, Pamela Ross and husband Roy, all of Belair, MD; two stepchildren, Ralph Johnston and wife Patty of Dublin,VA, and Helen Compton and husband Tommy of Grundy, VA; one sister, Linda Shotto of TN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer and Rev. Blake Bivens, officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour.
Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veteran Honor Guard.
