Louis Robert "Bob" DiFrancesco, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on July 15, 1940, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bob gracefully lived to the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Bob was the beloved son of the late Dominic and Beatrice Francesco and grew up in Old Bridge and East Brunswick, New Jersey. He later established his roots in Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, where he lived for 28 years, before settling in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 2001. Bob also treasured time spent at his vacation home in Buchanan, Virginia, surrounded by nature and family.
A man of steadfast faith, Bob was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church. His work ethic was unparalleled, dedicating 39 years as the Parts Manager at Straub Buick/GMC in Keyport, New Jersey. Bob was known for his hard-working nature and commitment to his career, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.
In his personal life, Bob was an avid fisherman who found joy and tranquility on the water. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, especially when it came to cheering for his favorite teams, the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Nascar races. Above all, Bob cherished the moments spent with his family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ann DiFrancesco, who was his best friend and love of his life. Together, they raised three children who continue to honor his legacy: Dominic DiFrancesco and his wife Margaret, Robert DiFrancesco and his wife Antonia, and Sheri Pfaff and her husband Steven. Bob's memory will be lovingly carried forward by his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to him. His loyal dog, Phoebe, was also a cherished companion in his later years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Ann Schank and Beatrice "Betty" DiFrancesco.
Bob is remembered fondly by many loving neighbors and friends, whose lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
Private family services will be held at a later date to honor Bob's memory and celebrate his remarkable life. In this time of remembrance, we reflect on the profound impact Bob had on those around him, forever holding him close in our hearts.
