Louis Lee Driver, Sr. was born on May 22, 1949, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Jessie Driver and Otha Mae Ford.
Louis, or "ShowBoat" as he was affectionately known, made a lifelong commitment to Christ at a young age. Although he only occasionally attended Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, his faith remained strong. Louis dedicated many years of his life to working at East Arkansas Community College, until his health began to decline. He had a passion for sports, with a particular loyalty to the Raiders. In his free time, Louis loved to watch Western shows and cook.
On the evening of Monday, December 2, 2024, Louis passed away at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro, AR. His passing was preceded by that of his parents- Jessie Driver and Otha Mae Ford; brothers Ronnie Ford, L. B. Haggins, Jr. and his sisters Mae Gladys Graham, Diana Bland, Carolyn Johnson, and Karen Driver Fletcher.
Louis leaves behind his loving and caring children- Tonya (Mackie) Davis of Olive Branch, MS, Felicia (Reginald) Carr of Jacksonville, AR, Angeline (L.J.) Speed of Jonesboro, AR, Erica Parchman of Wynne, AR, and Louis Driver, Jr. of Forrest City, AR; bonus daughter- Toshika Higgs; sisters and brothers-Patricia Jones (Rodney) Ivy of Forrest City, Arkansas, Sharon (Tony) Hicks of Dallas, Texas, Tony Ford of Glenn Heights, Texas, Michael Ford of Dallas, Texas, Robert (Patricia) Ford of Dallas, Texas, Calvin Haggins of Forrest City, Arkansas, Rodney Ford of Forrest City, Arkansas, Ricky Haggins of Chicago, Illinois; Janet Driver of Forrest City, Arkansas, Carolyn Robinson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Gloria Driver of Palestine, Arkansas, Gary (Sebastian) Driver of San Diego, California, Linda Driver of Forrest City, Arkansas, Yvonne Driver Tomlin of Palestine, Arkansas, Donna Driver of Forrest City, Arkansas, and Deborah (Tony) Huntley of Palestine, Arkansas; he leaves behind eighteen (18) grandchildren, eight (8) great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
