Survived by two sons, David (Sherry) Powers and James Louis (Sonya) Powers both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Carolyn (Keith) Sturgill of Louisa, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Ryan Sturgill, Shane Sturgill, Joshua Powers, Megan Keeton, James Robert Powers, nine great grandchildren, Rylan Sturgill, Jaxon Sturgill, Baylee Hatfield, Daven Powers, Bryson Powers, Karissa Keeton, Samantha Wheatley, Maryanne Wheatley, Will Wheatley, two very special family members, Melissa Patrick and Clay Lyon.
Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Lerlean Patrick Powers, and one special daughter, Freddie Jean Holbrook.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, February 25, 2024 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Hiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluegrass Cemetery at Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior to funeral services.
