Louis A. Saccoccio

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis A. Saccoccio, 92, of Johnston, formerly of Las Vegas, NV, who passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Barbara (Jez) Saccoccio. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late A. Robert and Catherine (DeLellis) Saccoccio. 

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa Ann Giammarco and her husband David Jr. of North Providence and Cathy Ann Ricci and her husband Scott of Greenville. He was the cherished grandfather of Isabella Giammarco, David Giammarco III, Corey Ricci, and Jason Ricci. Louis was the dear brother of Madeline Montaquila and treasured uncle of Kathy Campagnone, Geri Razza, Robert Montaquila, Stephen Montaquila, Kenny Marino, and several great nieces and nephews.

 Louis was the former President of Aro-Sac, Inc. for many years before retiring.

 He was an Air Force Veteran who served his country honorably during the Korean War.

Louis was an extremely generous man who never turned away anyone in need of help. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his summer home in Narragansett. He welcomed friends and family members to spend time with him at his home in Las Vegas where he graciously treated them to dinner buffets and popular shows over the years.

 He was a passionate card player who never missed an opportunity for a game of high-low- jack or blackjack. Shortly after moving to Las Vegas, he joined a pinochle league which met monthly. When it was his turn to host, he enjoyed cooking his famous sausage and peppers and welcoming friends to his home. He also enjoyed tending to his olive and fig trees.

Louis spent the last 11 years as a resident of The Bridge at Cherry Hill where he was considered a family member. There wasn’t a visit that went by without a nurse or caretaker mentioning how much they loved Lou and what a wonderful man he was. A true testament to his good nature.

 Louis lived a full and happy life marked by his dedication to his family, his love for tradition, and his warm, welcoming, and generous nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

 Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
