Mamie Louise Hamilton Hook, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family.
Louise was born on June 25, 1931, in Stephenville, Texas, to Learid L. Hamilton and Ludie Arvazena (Lowery) Hamilton. She married the love of her life, Henry Houston Hook, on August 26, 1948, and together they shared 72 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, partnership, and unwavering commitment.
Louise dedicated many years of her life working as the administrative secretary for Brock ISD, where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and friendly spirit. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple things; crafting, cooking, shopping, and spending time playing games with those she loved, especially Wahoo and dominoes. She had a way of making every gathering feel special.
A devout Christian, Louise loved serving in her church beside her husband Rev. Houston Hook. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of strength to all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister, Helon Dearen and husband John; her brother, Elbert Hamilton; daughters-in-law, Billie Lou Riggs Hook and Colleen Hook; grandchildren, Jody Hook and wife Joe, Randi Hook, and Kallie Hare and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Breeanna Brackney, Sawyer Bellows and husband Zach, Jordan Hook, Riggs Brackney, and Hagen and Hayes Hare; sister-in-law, Wanda Hook; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Traweek, loving husband, Houston, and her twin sons, Jim and John.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Smith Springs Cemetery in Erath County, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Louise will be remembered for her good- humored spirit, her strong faith, and the deep love she had for her family. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
