Lavonna Lillian "Bonnie" Whitcomb, 96, went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2025.
Bonnie loved the Lord with all her heart, and the love of God radiated from her to everyone she met. Her faith was not only spoken but lived out daily through service, kindness, and prayer. She taught Vacation Bible School at Canton Baptist Temple when her boys were young and later attended Faith Family Church, where she faithfully served at Royal Family Kids Camp for nine years.
Bonnie enjoyed camping and motorcycle rides, but her greatest joy was found in time spent with her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, cherishing each person individually while loving them all equally. She prayed for her family every single day.
She raised three rowdy boys while their dad worked long hours to provide for the family. Bonnie made sure her boys grew up having fun and never lacked what they needed. She took them fishing, taught them how to roller skate and ice skate, and even built an ice-skating rink in the backyard so they could enjoy winter together. Her home was filled with laughter, creativity, and love.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul A. Baker and Margaret (Carnahan) Baker; her husband of 56 years, W. Earl Whitcomb; her brother, Paul D. Baker; and her brother-in-law, Bill Toy.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Toy; sister-in-law, Sandi Baker; and her beloved sons: Earl W. (Pam) Whitcomb, Bruce D. (Patty) Whitcomb, and Timothy G. (Kathy) Whitcomb. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Daneen Whitcomb, Alan Whitcomb, Shawn Whitcomb, Jennifer Marshall, Kristen Lewis, Melissa Whitcomb, Amanda Whitcomb, Denise Small, and Angela Johnson, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held on January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home, 2222 Fulton Road NW,
Canton, Ohio 44709. Pastor Jack of Faith Family Church will officiate.
Services are entrusted to and being held at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home.
Bonnie's legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
