It is with profound sadness and heartbreak to announce the passing of Lowell Scott Ashbrook, music producer and artist, at the age of 26. Lowell was born on June 17, 1999, and passed away on August 22, 2025.
A private service of remembrance for Lowell was held on August 26, 2025, with Pastor Amos McFalls officiating. His great aunt, Jan Ashbrook-Link provided music.
Lowell was preceded in death by his maternal family; grandparents, Lane and Evelyn Ballard, great grandparents, Oliver and Amy Simpson; uncle, Robert E. Ballard; cousins, Dr. Richard Ballard; and cousin, Jimmy Ballard; and his paternal family; grandparents, Loretta and L. Michael Ashbrook; great grandparents, Reverend Lowell C. Ashbrook and his wife, Edna; and his uncle, Jeff Ashbrook.
Lowell is survived by his mother, Sunnie Ballard Frost and her husband, Darrel; his father, Scott Ashbrook and his wife Donna, and his siblings, Hunter and Archer Ashbrook and Adalyn Spikes; aunts, Lynn Wilson, Mary Woodville, Becky and Butch Baily, Dr. Marsha Friedrich; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. His beloved and loyal canine, Kitarra, was at his side always.
Lowell graduated with honors from River Oaks High School and served his senior class as President and thrived on the football field. In 2017, he received the Golden Business Award at Boys State convention with his fellow FBLA Mustangs.
He had a love for the outdoors and wildlife. Lowell was an accomplished and experienced hunter. He traveled to hunt big game in Africa, New Zealand and Canada. But music was Lowell's passion. He graduated from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida where he earned a degree in Music production and media with the emphasis one merging computer information technologies. He too was a gifted musician and wrote, recorded and produced many different music genres.
Lowell believed in community and gave back as a mentor coach under the direction of Coach Mays to empower at risk youth through the game of football. His contributions to the community and the lives he touched stand as a testament to his remarkable character. The impact he made is immeasurable, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished. Lowell was recently baptized on July 27, 2025, and a member of Christ Church. He shared a calling to share God's word to others, walking in the footsteps of his namesake, Reverend Lowell C. Ashbrook. "Love, Hope, Peace, Unity God's way". Lowell's vision was to open a faith-based retreat offering a safe place to offer hope, love, peace and a "family" to those struggling with adversity and plans to do so will be established at a later date.
