Lowell Dean Newman, Jr., 77, of Weatherford, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022. He was born August 18, 1944 in Hondo, Texas to Lowell Dean Newman, Sr and Ellen Moore Newman. Dean retired from Bell Helicopter where he worked in the research and development department. He was a member of Couts Memorial United Methodist Church, a devoted family man and an exceptional mechanic that could fabricate almost anything. In his younger years, Dean enjoyed skeet shooting, hunting and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Newman, Sr. and his wife Jackee.
Dean is survived by his daughters, Dana Newman and Tracy Blake and husband David; mother, Ellen Newman; siblings, Sandra Turner and husband Fred and Clay Newman; grandchildren, Amber Dassinger and husband Joey, Kassandra Neatrour, Taylor Price and Gabriel Neatrour; great grandchildren, Kenzi Dassinger, Victoria Rowland and Declan Dassinger; step grandchildren, Ashly Blake, Ryan Blake and wife Isabel and Laura Blake and one step great granddaughter, Jessica Blake.
Funeral service: 2:30 pm, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Greenwood Community Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
