Loy L. Harris

Loy L. Harris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Newnan, Georgia, at the age of 96. Born on September 12, 1929, in Fayetteville, Georgia, Loy lived a long and fulfilling life.

Loy graduated from Campbell High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he embarked on a successful career as a Supervisor at the National Lead Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loy Harris, Sr. and Sara Harris; his daughter, Retha Harris Payton; his siblings, Betty Jordan (Jack), Joel Harris (Jean), Martha McClanahan (Bill); and his brother-in-law, Gene Harpe.

Loy is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Barbara Eidson Harris; his son, Mike Harris and wife Carla; his sister, Constance Harpe; his brother, Jerry Harris and wife Mary. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Crista Kessinger, Heather Hambrick (Michael), Brianna Miller (Joe), and Kenneth Payton (Deirdre); and great-grandchildren, Ian Miller, Leiland Miller, Parker Hamrick, Ashlynn Miller, and Keaton Rose Hamrick. Loy will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory.
