LuAnn Compton Phippen

December 29, 1953 - January 3, 2026

LuAnn had a loving and caring heart, could organize the best backyard BBQ in Brigham City, was quick to laugh or make a joke, was hardworking and loved spending her time with family. She was born on December 29, 1953 in Ogden, UT. After a battle with Alzheimer's, she passed away on January 3, 2026 at her home in Brigham City, UT surrounded by family. LuAnn was a beacon of love, dedication and talent, whose radiant life touched many. An esteemed member of the Brigham City community, LuAnn was known for her commitment to education, her creative pursuits, and her unwavering dedication to her faith and family. She graduated from Box Elder High School, class of 1972, and Weber State College in 1980.

LuAnn married the love of her life, Robert Phippen on April 20, 1978 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they raised their five children in Brigham City in a home they built together. They were a totally devoted couple, unwavering in their love after nearly 48 years of marriage. Bob described caring for LuAnn in her later years as the honor of his life.

LuAnn was an accomplished elementary school teacher and a pillar of strength and support for her students. For fifteen years, she educated second and third graders, extending a special affection to those who required a bit of extra care and attention. When she wasn't working, she was an active participant in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Brigham City and the Utah Quilting Guild. She had many passions, such as quilting, knitting, gardening, bird watching, playing the ukulele, piano and chimes. LuAnn's talent for quilting won her numerous ribbons at the Box Elder County Fair. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend.

LuAnn is survived by her husband, Robert Phippen, and their children, Peter (Chelsey), Levi (Emily), Andrew (Kendra), Caitlin (Thom) Markeson, Madeline (Jonathan) McGivern and her favorite son, Buddy (the family dog). She also leaves behind her brothers, Kelly (Laura) and Brian (Shauna) Compton. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Carol Compton, and her in-laws, Art and Mary Lou Phippen, along with her brothers, Michael and Steven Compton, sister-in-law Laurie Scothern, and nephews Chase Compton, Austin Taylor, and niece Kelsey Packard.

LuAnn's life was marked by her immense love for her family, her commitment to serving others, and her remarkable skills in education and the arts. She left an indelible mark on the world, and her memory will be cherished forever.
